The anime series is inspired from a 4-koma series, created by the dōjin mangaka Hiroyuki.

Sounds cool doesn’t it. I personally love 4-koma. If you’re not familiar with it, 4-koma is a sort of simplified manga, made to be funny. Some popular series have had 4-koma done on them. I doubt you haven’t seen one since they appear in all sorts of material and places. They consist of one single page split up in 4 boxes of the same size. You can have a series of them, but each page is its own gag. All be it, sometimes, a gag from one such strip may be related to an one or more earlier ones.

But getting back to the writing at hand.
The series is about a young girl, Najimi Osana, who decides she’s going to make money out of drawing/selling dōjinshi . But even though her lust for fast riches is great she is shy, timid and doesn’t like porn or anything related. For what its worth she has a normal (non-perverted, conservative et cetera) person’s view towards it.

Lucky for her she has her close friend Tsuyuri (girl) who is a expert in the field, being herself a dōjin artist selling rape manga, to push her in the wrong ~eto… I mean “right” direction.
The actual anime bits of the show air for about 12 minutes or so, give or take. There is no actual ero-material in the show, except for the occasional reference.

There should really be more 4-koma anime. This show is really great.

Episode #1. ~ Her first XXX ~

In episode 1 we find Najimi and Tsuyuri on the train. Najimi is mumbling about how she got fired from her job, but Tsuyuri is just sleeping.

Short story longer, while her manager was lecturing her, a hair was bugging her nose . When the manager askes her why she’s making the funny face when he’s talking, she answered its the hair. The manager then thinks its his hair and starts aligning his wig, the end. Oh and like I said, she got fired over this.

After she finishing the story Tsuyori falls on her, the sleepy head. Realizing Tsuyori wasn’t listening at all, she starts asking her about her night and the reason she’s so sleepy. Tsuyori doesn’t feel like answering. Najimi throws a joke on how Tsuyori must have been doing perverted things. Tsuyori confirms that yes indeed that’s what she was doing. Everyone on the train goes into etchii mode, and Najimi’s temperature rises, blushes galore.

Najimi then asks her when exactly did she find someone, to which she answerers that she does it by herself. Najimi is awestruck. She then tells Najimi that, if she wants, she come and help her. Najimi is entering nucleor fusion at about this time, but still keeps cool. ~

But of course she refuses, in a nice way. As Najimi leaves she (Tsuyori) says she’ll pay her. Najimi is still not for it. Note that she’s thinking of yuri et cetera but Tsuyori is actually talking about dōjinshi. As Najimi’s about to step off the train, Tsuyori mumbles the sum. The trains doors close with Najimi still inside.

Apparently Tsuyori explained what she was actually doing and that the work she was talking about was selling her own works. She explains that a lot of people make a lot of etchii stuff and a lot of money. She, personally, deals in rape.

Najimi and Tsuyori are now at their red space and ready to sell. Tsuyori explains that this red stand is their circle’s space. Najimi is clueless, so Tsuyori also explains that a circle is the term used to describe a group of people dealing in dōjinshi. Najimi foolishly asks what she calls her circle, and so, after Tsuyori repeats the embarrassing name 4 or 5 times it finally sinks in. Poor Najimi. ~

Najimi and Tsuyori are now selling their rape porn.

Before a customer comes, Tsuyori goes to the toilet so Najimi is left all alone. And so a customer comes, with totally clueless Najimi at the helm. Beautiful scene, I pity Najimi. Eventually Tsuyori comes back and saves her, just in the nick of time.

It’s late and some of Tsuyori’s books seem to have sold. Najimi starts a conversation about the profit involved. As they discuss it a man with silver hair come and picks a copy. We then find out that he is one of the best dōjin mangaka around, but even though he sells good, because he does it for the work and not the money, and thus taking the cost for production and distribution, he’s left with little gain. Najimi then climbing on the table and makes a speech that she, Najimi Osana, is going to make her fortune by selling dōjins!

Her new companions smile, and the episode ends.

Note — At some point, right before Najimi makes her speech another wannabe like her drops some of her merchandise. That person, although it may not seem like it, is a iportant character as well. She appears again in the 3rd episode.

Episode #2. ~ The naked young lady ~

In this episode Najimi is learning how to become a pro dōjin artist … actually more like how to become a n00b dōjin artist first. Anyway, so as she can study, Tsuyori brings her to the depths of porn and makes her buy a ero-game. This is played on to no end as Najimi is completely embarrassed for even holding it. From hiding it from the her friend, her family to hiding it from the police et cetera.

Episode #3. ~ I… have matured? ~

In this episode, Najimi is selling her own work. Needless to say she starts out with great ideas, Tsuyori and Mr Justice are totally WTF?! when they hear her. But shortly after, when she shows a copy to Tsuyori ~ it kind of goes down hill. Our wannabe artist has a long way to go, but for a sec almost managed to sell all of her work. Well, almost. ~
